Hands-on, fresh air fun courtesy of the Countryside Education Trust based in The New Forest

I was more than impressed when I discovered the work of the Countryside Education Trust, a local charity dedicated to countryside and environmental education. If you have kids who love the great outdoors then you must check out their programmes of workshops and events which are run out of their lovely headquarters in beautiful Beaulieu in the New Forest. From seed sowing and making compost cakes to beekeeping, falconry and bushcraft, it’s all the type of fresh air, hands-on fun that kids love.

Family membership is just £20 a year, and it allows you to take full advantage of the charity’s fabulous Treehouse Study Centre (pictured above) – a top venue for a birthday party if ever there was one!
